Senior Manager, Interna Audit

I. Job Overview:
This role is responsible for leading internal audit engagements, overseeing audit staff, and ensuring high-quality execution of audit assignments. The role involves assisting the Head of Internal Audit with risk-based audit planning, risk assessment, and reporting. The Manager ensures audits are conducted in accordance with internal audit standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

II. Responsibilities or Duties:
1. Internal Audit Engagement Planning
• Conduct preliminary risk assessments and surveys to understand the control environment.
• Identify key risks and determine audit areas to address.
• Develop risk-based audit programs aligned with audit objectives.
• Revise audit scope and procedures based on emerging risks.
• Allocate resources and manage timelines across multiple audits
2. Internal Audit Engagement Execution
• Lead risk-based audits aligned to the annual audit plan
• Supervise audit teams to ensure timely completion and quality of audit engagement and documentation
• Identify root causes of control weaknesses and develop practical, value-added recommendations.
• Conduct exit meetings with process owners and communicate findings clearly.
• Develop and monitor engagement plans to ensure on-time delivery.
3. Quality Review & Reporting
• Review audit deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with internal audit methodology.
• Ensure findings are supported by evidence and recommendations are actionable.
• Collaborate with management for issue resolution and agreement on action plans.
• Provide timely updates and escalate delays or issues when necessary.
4. Stakeholder Management
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders across departments.
• Manage conflicts or sensitivities arising during audits with professionalism.
5. Internal Audit Function Management
• Play key role in annual audit planning
• Assist and Support the Head of Internal Audit effective discharge of internal audit function.
• Coach team members on audit methodology, controls, and risk assessment
• Prepare and present required reports on the internal audit performance to stakeholders such as Audit Committee.
• Other tasks as assigned.

III. Requirement or Qualifications:
1. Education
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, ACCA, CPA) are preferred but not mandatory.
2. Experience
• Proven experience in internal audit or external audit with strong exposure to the financial services sector.
• Experience leading audit engagements and managing audit teams.
• Solid knowledge of banking operations, risk management and regulation compliance.
3. Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• At least 5 years working experience in related field and experienced in team leading at least 5 years
• Able to manage multiple audits and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and risk-based audit methodology.
• High professional skepticism and strong analytical mindset.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel for branch and provincial audits.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
